To Join or not to join, that is the question

Hello Residents of Second Island! We believe in communicating all changes with Second Island to the residents. There is a new clause in the covenant regarding joining and dividing land parcels and also for moving tierboxes. We have received quite a few requests from our residents to perform these services. As Second Island expands, the staff promises to maintain and hopefully surpass the customer service currently provided to our residents. However, just as our resident’s time is valuable, ours is also. We have had a number of residents ask the staff to change their land boundaries multiple time. So we will now be charging a service fee of L$1500 to join and divide land and to move tierboxes.

If you contact a staff member of Second Island in-world or through our ticket system regarding a land change, the staff member assigned to the case will perform the services requested and for the time being, you will pay that staff member the service charge. This policy of paying the staff is subject to change as we are working on a more efficient and convenient way for residents to make payments to Second Island.

We thank you for your cooperation and also for choosing Second Island as your place to call home.

Another change for residents who were using PayPal to pay tier

As stated in a previous blog entry, all residents using PayPal to pay their tier will be switching to an “in-world” tier payment system using a tier box. Unfortunately, an unforeseen problem has arisen. In converting the PayPal payment to the Linden currency, we saw that we would have to raise the tier of some parcels considerably. Second Island prides itself in maintaining a good relationship with it’s residents and to avoid any unfortunate changes involving the residents using PayPal, we have decided to take the loss and not raise the tiers to cover the Lindex fees.

In other words, when Second Island first switched all residents over to the new tier machines, the residents would have had to pay more money to cover the cost of tier using the tier boxes. We don’t want to do that, especially because doing so would be raising the cost of some residents tier considerably.

To sum it up, new tier amounts will be added to the tier boxes of residents who were using PayPal. These amounts will be exactly equal to what you were paying through PayPal. We are sorry for the inconvenience and we hope this resolves any issues or problems you may have with the new tier payment system.

Thank you and have a wonderful weekend!

Second Island is discontinuing the use of PayPal

Due to continued problems with PayPal, Second Island will be discontinuing using PayPal as a method of payment in paying your tier.  There have been many uncleared payments as well as other technical issues involving PayPal.

In order to make it as easy and seamless as possible for the residents and staff of Second Island, tier boxes will be the only method of payment for tier on your Second Island land.  Please see the previous blog about the new tier boxes for more information regarding this new system.  To sum it up in a short sentence, all you will have to do is purchase L$ through LindeX and pay this box that will be placed on your land twice or once a month.

We know one of the biggest concerns for changing over to this system is the “increase” you pay from paying PayPal to buying L$.  Well, just as a helpful hint, the more L$ you buy, the smaller the surcharges become for using LindeX.  So we suggest that you buy a month’s worth of tier and hold it in your account until it is time to make your next payment.  This will help you avoid some of the surcharges that come with using LindeX.

Currently the only residents paying with PayPal are in the following islands: Navi, Epona, Zora and Saria.  If you live on these islands, your tier is L$2 per square meter per month.  This should provide you with some assistance in calculating your new tier cost.

Again, Second Island thanks you for your cooperation. If you have any specific questions, please contact Kaio Obviate, Cezar Boram or Megz Ling for more assistance.

Changes with Second Island Tier Machines

Hello residents of Second Island!

This blog entry does NOT pertain to you if you live on any of the Lakeview Islands.

Second Island is currently working on a new in-world tier payment system. Much like the current tier machines on your parcel, you will still be able to walk outside of your door and pay your tier. The only difference with these new boxes is that unlike your current tier machine, you can only make payments on a weekly basis. Currently, these tier boxes are set to the minimum payment being 2 weeks and maximum 8, so you would be able to pay your new tier box twice per month, once, etc. The change over will happen this week (January 27th- February 2nd) and the new tier machine will be a one prim box.

If you live in Epona, Navi, Ocarina Beach, Saria and Zora, you had 64 square meters cut from your parcel when the Second Island team placed the original tier machines on your land. With the new low prim machine, Second Island will be able to return 48 square meters of that land to your parcel, leaving the remaining 16 square meters for the tier machine. When your land is ready to be rejoined, we will inform you so you can buy it back for L$0.

Also, with the new tier boxes, your MAXIMUM “overdue” time is three (3) days. You will receive messages from the tier box if your tier is overdue. If you do not pay your tier within this time frame and we have no reponse from you letting us know what is happening, your land will be reclaimed by Second Island. If you decide to sell your land, please contact any of our admins immediately so we can switch the tier box to the new land owner’s name (this must be done manually by a Second Island Administrator).

We thank you for your cooperation and as always, we will keep you updated with any and all changes happening with Second Island. If you have any specific questions, please direct them to us in world or, for a faster reponse, go on our support by ticket system.
